US President Donald Trump on Friday said he would decide within two weeks whether to impose sanctions against Russia or do nothing at all.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said he was not “happy” with any aspect of the effort to find peace, adding he had not yet managed to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“There is a tremendous amount of hatred there. But we will see what happens. I think in two weeks, we will know which way I am going”, he said.

Trump added he would decide then whether to impose "massive sanctions" or do nothing and say "it is your fight".
