Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has strongly condemned Georgia’s ruling party, Georgian Dream (GD), for its latest decision, calling it the “inevitable result” of the party’s actions over time.

In a post on X, Tsahkna accused the GD leadership of deceiving the Georgian people, particularly its supporters, who had trusted the party’s promise to lead Georgia toward European Union (EU) membership.

The ruling Georgian Dream party recently announced plans to delay negotiations for EU membership until 2028, citing a desire to focus on domestic reforms without ’external pressure.’ The move has sparked widespread criticism from opposition parties, civil society, and international observers, who accuse the government of abandoning Georgia’s pro-European course.
