Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the Government bears direct responsibility for stabilising the country’s energy situation and must present a clear action plan as soon as possible.

Speaking on the issue, Zelenskyy stressed the need for maximum coordination with businesses regarding electricity generation and the distribution of available power, so that citizens can genuinely feel an improvement in the situation.

The President also said the Government must develop additional support programmes for the population and provide clear answers to all questions raised by officials.

“The Government is personally responsible for this. Tomorrow I expect a concrete and clear list of actions and decisions,” Zelenskyy said.

He added that the energy sector requires round-the-clock management. Zelenskyy said reports must be submitted at all levels of Government, from Ukrenergo - a state-owned electricity transmission system operator in the country - and the central Government to regional and local administrations.
