Adjara Supreme Council Chair: founding political party is Ivanishvili’s ‘greatest achievement’

Chair of the Supreme Council of Adjara Tsotne Ananidze on Wednesday said founding the ruling Georgian Dream party was the “greatest” of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s achievements.

Speaking on Adjara TV, Ananidze said Ivanishvili had made many significant contributions to Georgia, but described the establishment of Georgian Dream as his most important accomplishment.

According to Ananidze, Georgian Dream provided Georgian citizens with the opportunity to replace the “oppressive and anti-state” government of former President Mikheil Saakashvili.

“Had it not been for this party, which served as an opportunity and an instrument for Georgian citizens, Saakashvili’s oppressive and anti-state regime would not have been replaced, despite numerous attempts,” Ananidze said.

He also argued that without the Georgian Dream, it would have been impossible to preserve peace and protect the country and its population in 2022.

Ananidze added that strengthening the ruling party would remain one of his personal goals, alongside his colleagues, teammates and representatives of the executive branch.
