Chair of the Supreme Council of Adjara Tsotne Ananidze has responded to comments made by Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak regarding former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili.

Podolyak recently stated that Ukraine wants Saakashvili to return to the country.

Reacting on social media, Ananidze questioned then why Ukrainian authorities had previously sent Saakashvili to Georgia “with hopes of a coup attempt”.

He also accused Ukraine of interfering in Georgia’s internal affairs.

“If the Georgian authorities had planned a similar special operation against you, there would probably not be a single place left on earth where you would not speak about such aggressive interference. It is also necessary to take responsibility for your own actions,” Ananidze stated.
