A member of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara from Georgian Dream, Tsotne Ananidze, has commented on the tense situation in the region and the outbreak of hostilities in Iran.

In a post on social media on Sunday, Ananidze said that regardless of political sympathies, it was clear that Georgia continued to preserve peace despite ongoing conflicts in neighbouring countries and what he described as external pressure.

“Regardless of political sympathies, we must recognise that amid a fourth war in our neighbourhood and unfair external pressure, Georgia, in full respect of international law, is maintaining peace and stability, which is our foremost national objective,” he wrote.
