Official ceremony welcomes Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili in Ankara

An official welcoming ceremony for Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili was held at the presidential palace of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

President Erdoğan hosted Kavelashvili and his delegation as part of the Georgian leader’s official visit to Turkey. The visit agenda includes both a one-on-one meeting between the two presidents and an expanded-format discussion, followed by a joint statement to the media.

During the trip, President Kavelashvili will also meet with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş.

The Georgian delegation includes Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, Georgia’s Ambassador to Turkey Archil Kalandia, representatives of the Presidential Administration, as well as the head and members of the Georgia–Turkey parliamentary friendship group, Giorgi Chkonia, Mariam Lashkhi, and Guram Macharashvili.
