Turkey, China, Russia – Georgia’s top trading partners this year

Georgia’s foreign trade turnover, both imports and exports,  increased by 37% this year and amounted to seven billion dollars, with the country’s largest trading partners being Turkey, China and Russia, the National Statistics Office of Georgia said on June 20.

 

The agency stated that the products worth about two billion dollars were exported and the products worth about $4.8 billion were imported.

 

Three key export goods were:

 

Copper ores and concentrates – $465.9 mln.

Ferroalloys – $285.7 mln.

Cars – $191.0 mln.

 

Three main import goods were:

 

Oil and oil products – $461.2 mln.

Cars – $454.7 mln.

Copper ores and concentrates – $371.8 mln.

 

Along with the war in Ukraine, goods worth about $554 million were imported from Russia to Georgia this year, which is 40.5% more than last year.

 

The share of products exported from Georgia to Russia is about 210 million US dollars, which is 3.7% more than the previous year.
