Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, in a joint briefing with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey, on Thursday highlighted the pivotal role of Turkey as Georgia’s leading trade partner.

 

The discussions centered on the deepening of their partnership and explored avenues for enhancing bilateral trade relations. Kobakhidze also emphasized the importance of regional stability, particularly in the Middle East, and reiterated Georgia’s support for peaceful resolutions through international cooperation. 

Both leaders underscored the significance of transit infrastructure and connectivity in bolstering regional collaboration. The briefing concluded with a shared commitment to fostering exports from Georgia and advancing bilateral trade initiatives.

“As Turkey stands as Georgia’s primary trading partner, our deliberations revolved around deepening this partnership. We recognize substantial opportunities for enhancing bilateral trade relations and stressed the importance of fostering exports from Georgia. Bilateral trade emerged as a focal point in our exchange”, Kobakhidze said. 

Kobakhidze visited Turkey with his delegation.
