Turkey, Russia, China – Georgia’s top trading partners in 2022

Turkey, Russia and China, with 37.6 percent of trade turnover ($ 19,042.9 billion) coming from these countries, were Georgia’s top three trading partners last year, the National Statistics Office of Georgia said on Friday. 

Azerbaijan, the US, Armenia, Germany, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Italy have been nominated among the ten largest trade partners for Georgia. 

Geostat noted 78.6% of trade turnover had come from the top ten.

The agency said last year, compared to 2021, the rate of foreign trade turnover increased by 32.8 percent: exports exceeded the data of the previous year by 31.8 percent ($13,450.1 billion), and imports – by 41.4 percent ($7,857.2 billion).

The top three countries in terms of exports were: China, Azerbaijan and Russia. Germany and Italy were not in the top ten, Peru and Kazakhstan had entered instead.
