A Turkish Airlines aircraft bound for Istanbul returned to Tbilisi International Airport shortly after takeoff due to a technical malfunction.

A passenger told Front News, the incident caused panic on board. Passengers were escorted off the plane after it returned to the airport.

Specialists are currently working to resolve the technical issue, and it is not yet known when the Tbilisi-Istanbul flight will be rescheduled.

The Turkish Airlines office in Tbilisi has not responded to calls. No further details are available at this time.
