Officers from Georgia’s Patrol Police Department, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, have arrested two Ukrainian citizens on serious drug-related charges following operational and investigative actions.
According to the Ministry, the suspects — identified only as S.T. and O.K., both born in 2005 — are accused of acting as part of a premeditated group involved in the illegal acquisition and possession of a particularly large quantity of narcotic substances, as well as preparing and attempting to distribute them.
The charges carry a potential sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
Law enforcement officers seized 103 packages of the synthetic opioid methadone during searches of the suspects’ persons, vehicle, and temporary residence. Police also confiscated an electronic scale and materials used for drug packaging.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260, 18-260, and 19-260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which relate to illegal drug possession in large quantities, preparation for distribution, and attempted distribution by a group acting in prior agreement.
