Two indicted for premeditated murder of vendor after his resistance to criminal authorities

Two individuals have been indicted for a premeditated murder of a vendor in Tbilisi Lilo mall in the summer after the latter rejected the demands of criminal authorities to pay them, the Prosecutor General’s Office said on Thursday. 

 

The body said a suspect living abroad, who was acting with the name of criminal bosses, was extorting money from vendors in the mall, and planned the murder of the target after the latter rejected his demands. 

 

The alleged offender contacted his friend in Georgia, who handed a weapon and money to a selected killer, who shot the man twice in the head in the summer while in the mall. 

 

The victim died in a hospital on August 17, the Prosecutor’s Office said. 

 

All the three charged with planning the murder, aiding in the crime and premeditated murder face 16 to 20 years in prison or a life sentence.
