Congressman Joe Wilson urges UK to sanction Bidzina Ivanishvili, his family and associates

In a recent social media post, Congressman Joe Wilson called on the United Kingdom to impose immediate sanctions on Bidzina Ivanishvili, his family, and his network of supporters, labeling him a “CCP crony.”

“I call on our British allies to immediately sanction CCP crony Bidzina Ivanishvili, his immediate family, and his network of enablers! I am grateful to be Co-Chair of the congressional UK Caucus,” Wilson stated.

On January 13, UK Parliament member James MacCleary introduced an Early Day Motion (EDM) calling for potential sanctions on Bidzina Ivanishvili, honorary chair of the Georgian Dream Party, in response to his responsibility for Georgia’s democratic backsliding. As of January 17, the motion has 18 signatories.
