Congressman Joe Wilson, a Republican and Chair of the Helsinki Commission, has announced the drafting of the bipartisan Georgian Nightmare Non-Recognition Act, aimed at addressing the growing concerns over Georgia’s political landscape.

Taking to social media platform X, Wilson declared, “The bipartisan Georgian Nightmare Non-Recognition Act is drafted & ready for introduction! The Georgian people demand free & fair elections. The USA will not recognize the pro-CCP, pro-Iran Ivanishvili regime!”

The proposed legislation underscores growing bipartisan frustration in Washington with what many see as Georgia’s democratic backsliding under the leadership of Bidzina Ivanishvili, widely regarded as the shadow ruler of the Georgian Dream government.
