UK Ambassador to Georgia Mark Clayton says that his country’s intelligence survives has no information that Georgia is aiding Russia to circumvent international sanctions imposed on it for invading Ukraine.

Clayton’s comments on Monday come on the heels of the Kyiv’s allegations that Georgia is aiding Russian smugglers and that Russia has plans to export its products to foreign markets under up to 200 companies registered in Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The ambassador said that Georgia is playing its role in defending the “unprecedented package of sanctions:” that the West has imposed on Russia.

Tbilisi has dismissed the allegations and demanded Kyiv to present evidence which has not been available so far.

Several Ukrainian officials stated earlier this month that Kyiv is receiving various information from the US and the UK intelligence agencies.
