UK: ceasefire between Russia, Ukraine not enough to lift British sanctions

A ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine would not be enough to lift the British sanctions imposed on Russia, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson reportedly told his team on March 29.

“The prime minister said a ceasefire alone would not be cause for UK sanctions to be removed on Russia,” Johnson’s spokesperson told the press earlier today.

 

The spokesperson noted that Johnson further discussed the means of increasing pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to ensure that Russia would ‘completely’ change its course.
