The main intelligence division of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Monday reported a large Russian landing ship Yamal had sustained damage during a missile strike on the temporarily occupied Crimea.

According to Ukrainian military intelligence, the attack occurred on March 23 at the 13th repair plant in Sevastopol, where the Yamal was docked at the time.

The Central Intelligence Agency claimed the damage to the landing craft was “critical” – a hole in the upper deck caused the starboard side to list, requiring occupation forces to continuously pump out water.

Information from the Ukrainian agency indicated Yamal, which played a role in the annexation of Crimea, underwent repairs between 2017 and 2023.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia has yet to comment on the extent of the damage to the warships.
