NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg on Thursday said the alliance and its allies had ensured  “unprecedented support” for Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February last year.

“Overall, through the US-led Contact Group, NATO allies and partners have provided unprecedented assistance to Ukraine. More than 98 percent of the combat vehicles promised to Ukraine have already been delivered – that’s more than 1,550 armored vehicles, 230 tanks and other equipment, including a large amount of ammunition”, Stoltenberg said.

He also said nine new Ukrainian armored brigades had been trained and equipped, and expressed his expectations the aid would  give Ukraine a “strong position” for reintegrating its occupied territories.
