The General Staff claimed the strike on the port of Olya took place on Thursday

Ukraine’s armed forces on Friday said they had attacked a Russian seaport in Astrakhan region that serves as a key logistics hub for military cargo arriving from Iran.

The General Staff claimed the strike on the port of Olya took place on Thursday, targeting a vessel carrying components for Shahed-type drones and other Iranian-made munitions.

The statement did not specify the weapons used in the attack, and said the results were still being assessed.

Russia’s defence ministry has not commented on the reported strike.
