Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday said Kyiv had started the process of preparing agreements with allies on security guarantees.

The Vilnius meeting to discuss the results of the NATO summit was attended by diplomats, the representatives of the Ukrainian government and the president’s office.

“We are now turning each agreement with partners for Ukraine into concrete steps, so that all agreements become concrete results. A good summit should also bring good results”, Zelenskyy said.  He noted “we are preparing to conclude agreements with partners on security guarantees of Ukraine on the way to NATO. We are preparing the ground for the next NATO summit in Washington. NATO is unthinkable without Ukraine”.

The Vilnius Summit communique this week has removed the necessity of a Membership Action Plan for Kyiv, but did not give concrete dates on potential membership and added the invitation would be dependent on all of its members.
