Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya on Friday praised the Trump administration’s efforts to bring Kyiv and Moscow to the negotiating table but said he saw “no signs” of readiness from the Kremlin for substantive dialogue.
In an interview with NBC News, Kyslytsya dismissed Moscow’s sharp rhetoric as an attempt to manipulate the United States. He emphasised while Ukraine remained open to talks, the public was firmly against concessions on territorial integrity.
“Our public is categorically against trading our land for peace,” Kyslytsya said, adding that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had made clear his willingness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss territorial issues. He noted any such discussions should begin from the current contact line.
