The United States assessed that recent talks held in Moscow had a “positive impact” on efforts to advance a peace process, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha‎ said in Brussels while speaking to reporters.

Sybiha said following the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to Moscow, US President’s special representative Steve Witkoff held a phone conversation with Ukrainian delegation head Rustem Umerov.

Sybiha noted that, due to security considerations, it was “difficult to imagine” that the two officials discussed detailed aspects of the Moscow meeting during the call. However, Washington conveyed its position clearly.

“Representatives of the US delegation informed us that, in their assessment, the discussions in Moscow had a positive significance for the peace process. That is their evaluation,” Sybiha said.

He added that US officials have invited the Ukrainian delegation to the United States to continue negotiations in the near future.
