Head of the Servant of the People’s Party faction in the Ukrainian state legislature and a negotiator in Ukraine’s peace talks with Russia, David Arakhamia, has called on the US to hinder the using of various Georgian companies and organizations by Russia to circumvent international sanctions imposed on it for invading Ukraine, Deutsche Welle cited Arakhamia as saying at the recent Marshall Fund event in Washington,

Arakhamia, who is of Georgian origin, claimed that Russian citizens opened companies and bank accounts in Georgia via the internet and bypassed the sanctions in the way.

Kyiv has also accused Tbilisi of “supporting Russia” to circumvent sanctions, with the Georgian authorities strongly dismissing the allegations and demanding Ukraine to present evidence.

However, no evidence has been presented so far.

The Georgian Dream ruling party and the governmental officials stated earlier that Arakhamia was “allied” with the Georgian United National Movement “destructive opposition,” and was acting “against Georgian interests, trying to spark tension between the two friendly nations.”
