Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy last week posthumously awarded Georgian volunteer Mikheil Kaplanishvili an order of honor and a medal.
The Ukrainian representation in Georgia will hand the award to Kaplanishvili’s mother.
The volunteer was killed in Luhansk in October, in an explosion.
Two more Georgian volunteers – Malkhaz Kvizhinadze and Joni Odishvili – were killed in Ukraine last week, bringing the total figure of Georgian volunteers killed in Ukraine to 46.
The first death of a Georgian volunteer in Ukraine was reported in March, shortly after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
