Ukraine’s General Staff says Russia has lost over 1.18mln troops since start of war

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Sunday said Russia had lost an estimated 1,188,490 troops since the full-scale invasion began.
The body added as of December 14, 2025, Russian losses include about 710 personnel killed or wounded over the past day alone.
The General Staff estimates Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine from February 25, 2022, to December 14, 2025, as follows: 11,410 tanks (+1), 23,721 armored combat vehicles (+7), 35,041 artillery systems (+9), and 1,567 multiple launch rocket systems.
Russian forces have also lost an estimated 1,259 air defence systems (+1), 432 aircraft, 347 helicopters, 90,124 operational-tactical drones (+440) and 4,073 cruise missiles (+13), the report said.
In addition, Ukraine estimates Russian losses include 28 light fast boats or ships, one submarine, 69,789 vehicles and fuel tankers (+81) and 4,026 units of special equipment.
