Ukraine’s General Staff has released updated figures on Russia’s military losses since the start of the full-scale invasion, now approaching its fourth year.
According to the statement, Russia has lost an estimated 1,213,460 troops killed or wounded since the beginning of the war, including 940 casualties over the past 24 hours.
The Ukrainian military estimates Russia’s total combat losses between 25 February 2022 and 6 January 2026 as follows:
Tanks: 11,512 (+5)
Armoured combat vehicles: 23,863 (+6)
Artillery systems: 35,831 (+46)
Multiple launch rocket systems: 1,593 (+1)
Air defence systems: 1,269 (+1)
Fixed-wing aircraft: 434 (no change)
Helicopters: 347 (no change)
Operational-tactical drones: 101,443 (+879)
Cruise missiles: 4,137 (no change)
Naval vessels and boats: 28 (no change)
Submarines: 2 (no change)
Military vehicles and fuel tankers: 73,102 (+157)
Special equipment: 4,036 (no change)
