Ukraine’s General Staff says Russia has lost more than 1.22mln troops since start of war

Russia has lost an estimated 1,225,590 military personnel in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Saturday in an updated report on Russian combat losses.
The General Staff added Russian losses over the past day alone amounted to approximately 1,130 personnel killed or wounded.
The General Staff estimated Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine between February 25, 2022, and January 17, 2026, as follows:
Tanks: 11,569 (+3)
Armoured combat vehicles: 23,914 (+6)
Artillery systems: 36,261 (+31)
Multiple launch rocket systems: 1,615 (+1)
Air defence systems: 1,278 (+1)
Aircraft: 434 (+0)
Helicopters: 347 (+0)
Operational-tactical drones: 108,605 (+721)
Cruise missiles: 4,163 (+0)
In addition, Russia has reportedly lost 28 light fast boats or ships (+0), two submarines (+0), 74,601 vehicles and fuel tankers (+115), and 4,044 units of special equipment (+0).
