Russia’s combat losses near one million, Ukraine claims

Russia has suffered an estimated 907,220 casualties since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, with an additional 1,280 personnel lost in the past 24 hours, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The latest figures, released on Wednesday, highlight what Kyiv describes as the heavy toll on Russian forces as the war enters its third year.

Ukraine also reports significant losses in Russian military hardware. Since the invasion began, Russia has lost an estimated:

10,430 tanks (+5 in the past day)
21,685 armored vehicles (+15)
25,207 artillery systems (+17)
1,341 multiple launch rocket systems (+3)
1,117 air defense systems (+1)
370 aircraft (unchanged)
335 helicopters (unchanged)
30,818 drones (+59)
3,121 cruise missiles (unchanged)
28 naval vessels (unchanged)
1 submarine (unchanged)
41,901 motor vehicles and fuel tanks (+77)
3,786 special equipment units (+1)

Western governments continue to support Ukraine both militarily and diplomatically, while Moscow maintains its narrative that the conflict is part of a broader confrontation with NATO and the West.
