Ukraine’s Armed Forces have released updated figures on Russia’s military losses, estimating that around 1,096,430 Russian troops have been killed or wounded since the full-scale invasion began on 24 February 2022. The figure represents an increase of 910 personnel compared to the previous day.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia’s estimated total combat losses in Ukraine as of 16 September 2025 also include:

  • Tanks – 11,184

  • Armoured combat vehicles – 23,274 (+5)

  • Artillery systems – 32,810 (+26)

  • Multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) – 1,490 (+2)

  • Air defence systems – 1,217

  • Aircraft – 422

  • Helicopters – 341

  • Operational-tactical drones – 59,719 (+310)

  • Cruise missiles – 3,718

  • Speedboats/warships – 28

  • Submarines – 1

  • Vehicles and fuel tanks – 61,770 (+72)

  • Special equipment – 3,965 (+1)
