Armed Forces of Ukraine says Russian troop losses top 1.3 mln since invasion

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Thursday said Russia had lost about 1,307,540 troops in Ukraine since 24 February 2022, including an estimated 1,040 casualties over the past day.

The reported total combat losses of Russian forces from 25 February 2022 to 9 April 2026 include:

  • 11,847 tanks (+1)

  • 24,370 armoured combat vehicles (+2)

  • 39,689 artillery systems (+64)

  • 1,724 multiple launch rocket systems (+1)

Additional losses include:

  • 1,341 air defence systems (+0)

  • 435 aircraft (+0)

  • 350 helicopters (+0)

  • 227,539 operational-tactical drones (+2,238)

  • 4,517 cruise missiles (+0)

The General Staff also reported the destruction of 33 boats or light vessels and two submarines, as well as 88,332 vehicles and fuel tankers (+229) and 4,119 units of special equipment (+2).
