Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had arrived in the US for talks with President Donald Trump, with strengthening Ukraine's air defenses and expanding strategic cooperation topping the agenda.
In a post on social media this week, Zelenskyy said his schedule included meetings with Trump, members of the US administration and others involved in supporting Ukraine's defense.
"Our number one priority is anti-ballistic missile defense and strategic cooperation with the United States," Zelenskyy said.
He said the visit would focus on strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities and deepening bilateral cooperation with Washington.
Zelenskyy also said he would pay tribute to the late Lindsey Graham, adding that he would join participants at a memorial ceremony in Washington to honor what he described as Graham's contributions to security and freedom in the Euro-Atlantic region and beyond.
