Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has officially received a draft peace plan from the United States that Washington believes could help activate diplomatic efforts, the Office of the President of Ukraine said on Thursday.

The body said Zelenskyy hopes to discuss the proposal with US President Donald Trump “in the coming days” as part of exploring diplomatic options to end the war.

“The President of Ukraine outlined the fundamental principles that are important for our people, and following today's meeting we agreed to work on the points of the plan in a way that would bring a worthy end to the war.

“From the very first seconds of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has sought peace, and we support all substantive proposals that can bring real peace closer. Since the beginning of this year, Ukraine has supported President Trump's proposals to end the bloodshed", the statement reads.

Media reports claim the 28-point document effectively envisions Ukraine’s capitulation, reportedly requiring Kyiv to cede Donbas, reduce its armed forces by half and accept other major concessions.

Earlier today, Bloomberg reported additional reported provisions, including the lifting of international sanctions on Russia and halting documentation of alleged Russian war crimes against civilians and infrastructure in Ukraine.
