Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have carried out a joint special operation targeting the Marinovka airfield in Russia’s Volgograd region, destroying two Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers and damaging two more.
According to statements released by both the SBU and Ukraine's General Staff, the precision strike was conducted using long-range drones. The Su-34 jets, which Russia heavily relies on for front-line bombings—including the deployment of guided aerial bombs (KABs)—were stationed at the Marinovka base at the time of the attack.
The strike also triggered a fire in the technical and operational zone of the airfield, which forms part of the critical infrastructure supporting Russia’s military operations. Ukrainian officials noted that the targeted facility is used by Russian forces to prepare aircraft for combat missions, as well as for routine maintenance and repairs.
