The head of the United National Movement opposition party on Tuesday accused the Georgian Government of handing a combatant’s personal information to Russians.

In a Facebook post, Melia claimed that the information about the Georgian fighter, which was kept in the archives of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia, “was found in the hands of the occupier”.

“Today’s Government of stateless capitulants, collaborationists, sells the homeland, sells the soldiers! They sell each of us!”, Melia said, without providing any other details.

In its response to Melia’s post, the Strategic Communications Service of the Government of Georgia said that it was “another disinformation by a bankrupt political force and its bankrupt political leader, which aims to spark tension in the public and discredit the Government”.
