During a daily press briefing on Monday, Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, expressed concern over the ongoing situation in Georgia.

“We are following with concern the developments in Georgia and stress the importance of respecting freedom of expression and peaceful assembly,” Dujarric stated.

He emphasized the need for all reports of human rights violations to be promptly and transparently investigated, underscoring the importance of accountability and adherence to international standards.

“The Secretary-General calls on all actors to refrain from actions which can lead to further violence and to seek to overcome disagreements through dialogue,” Dujarric added, urging restraint and a commitment to peaceful resolution.
