The unemployment rate stood at 14.3%, up 0.6 percentage points year-on-year

Georgia’s unemployment rate increased in the second quarter of 2025 compared with the same period last year, according to the latest figures released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia on Tuesday.

The unemployment rate stood at 14.3%, up 0.6 percentage points year-on-year. The number of unemployed people rose by 7,900 (3.6%), reaching 227,600.

At the same time, self-employment declined, falling by 29,300 people (6.5%) to 422,200. By contrast, the number of salaried employees grew slightly, rising by 4,700 (0.5%) to 940,500.
