Head of the United National Movement (UNM) opposition party faction in the state legislature Khatia Dekanoidze believes that it is time for the party to stop boycotting sessions and actively participate in parliamentary activities.

She says that there are many issues which require the party’s engagement, including the creation of a parliamentary investigation commission on imprisoned former president Mikheil Saakashvili’s case and drafting a resolution in support of Ukraine.

She says that the parliamentary commission, which will look into alleged violation of Saakashvili’s rights while in prison, will be registered soon.

Saakashvili claims that he was a victim of degrading and inhumane treatment during a transfer to Gldani prison hospital last year.
