Member of the United National Movement (UNM) opposition party Murman Dumbadze says that Saakashhvili will appear in public at 8 a.m. tomorrow.

He says that Saakashvili is in Batumi currently.

At 8 a.m. tomorrow polling stations will open across the country for municipal elections.

Saakashvili released a video late yesterday and said that he has already returned to Georgia for the race. The ruling Georgian Dream party says that Saakashvili’s Batumi video is fake and that he has not crossed into Georgia.

The UNM dismisses the reports and says that Saakashvili really returned.

Earlier Saakashvili pledged that he would return on the evening of the election day.

The ex-president has been charged and convicted in absentia in Georgia and the government had stated that he would be arrested if returned after eight years on the run.

Saakashvili has been convicted for abuse of authority and a case of a beating of businessman Valeri Gelashvili.
