As it seems the “shadow ruler” [in reference to the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party] Bidzina Ivanishvili had promised Russia not to ensure aid for Ukraine, an MP of the United National Movement opposition party, Roman Gotsiridze, told Front News on Tuesday, in comments of the recent statement of Andriy Kasianov, the charge d’affaires of Ukraine in Georgia.

The opposition politician said “one-month silence on humanitarian aid is damaging to the image of Georgia”.

“It is not new that the government of Georgia is behaving shamefully, but it was hard to imagine it had fallen to this point – to ensure generators and basic items for Ukraine”, Gotsiridze said.

The Ukrainian diplomat claimed they had requested help with generators and similar items a month ago, with the Georgian authorities “have not responded so far”.

He also said the Georgian government had not provided arms for Ukraine to defend itself in the ongoing war with Russia as well.
