Turkish citizen wanted under Interpol red notice arrested in Georgia

Police in Georgia have arrested a Turkish citizen who was wanted internationally under an Interpol red notice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has said.

The individual was the subject of an international search at the request of Turkish law enforcement authorities.

Officers from the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department arrested the wanted person in the resort town of Ureki, following investigative measures.

Extradition proceedings are now under way in accordance with Georgian law, the ministry said.
