US calls on its citizens to “immediately leave” Kyiv

The US State Department on Tuesday urged its citizens in Kyiv to leave the Ukrainian capital  “immediately” due to “high possibility”of  attacks by Moscow on the background of Russia’s war in Ukraine. 

The State Department said that the threat of Russian airstrikes on Kyiv’s infrastructure and Government buildings “is very high in the coming days”.

Reuters recently reported, based on a US government official, that Russia was planning new attacks on Ukrainian civil infrastructure and Government facilities in the near future.

The Main Intelligence Division of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine urged Ukrainians to be especially careful on August 24, Independence Day, due to the increased threat of missile attacks and provocations coming from Russia.
