US confirms security negotiations with Ukraine

The US State Department on Monday confirmed that negotiations on security guarantees with Ukraine will begin this week, with the guarantees concerning defence obligations, Matthew Miller, the head of the press service in the body, confirmed. 

“Discussions will begin this week on how we can decide the details of these security commitments going forward,” Miller said.

The official noted the US delegation was represented by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs and the negotiations would be held online.
