The United States has delivered 140 tons of security assistance to the Georgian defence ministry, the US Embassy in Georgia on Friday said.

“The United States remains committed to the strategic partnership with Georgia and will continue strengthening Georgian Defense Forces”, said the embassy.

During the day the embassy also opened the American shelf in the central Georgian village of Odzisi, adjacent to the currently Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region.

It said the shelf offered free resources and opportunities to participate in numerous events.  Books, clubs on various topics, development opportunities, invited guests, and discussions on interesting topics in Odzisi public school.

“We thank our partners in the local government, Odzisi public school leadership and educators, and Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Hub, for helping us make this project a reality, ” said the embassy.
