Erika Olson, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State overseeing policy for Southern Europe and the Caucasus, says that Washington is unhappy that the Georgian Dream government has undermined several democratic processes, referring to electoral and judiciary reforms.

Voice of America cited Olson as saying that the US-Georgia cooperation is ‘firm,’ but the country should carry out the reforms that will ensure the rule of law and a better electoral system.

Anri Okhanashvili from the ruling Georgian Dream party says that the criticism is likely to lack evidence, as Georgian electoral and judiciary legislations are in line with international standards.

He says that he would like to hear concrete arguments on the issue.
