A US diplomatic convoy has been fired on in Sudan amid violent clashes between two military leaders for power, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said.

He called the attack “reckless, irresponsible and dangerous” and said no casualties had been reported.

Clashes between the country’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have been ongoing in Sudan for the fourth day, which have left 185 people killed and more than 1,800 injured.

Thirty-three Georgian citizens remain stranded in the country, employees of two Georgian-based airlines, waiting for the establishment of a humanitarian corridor.
