US Embassy staff visit Jo Ann University Hospital

The representatives of the United States Embassy to Georgia have visited the Jo Ann University Hospital in Tbilisi and handed over the gifts to the patients in the children’s department.

Tamar Zarginava, a vice-rector of European University – also serving as a coordinator of international relations and a head of medical department – Zaza Sopromadze, an executive director of Jo Ann University Hospital, Maya Tsanava, a deputy director, and Khatuna Dolidze, a chair of psycho-rehabilitation center of the hospital have hosted the guests. 

The Jo Ann University Hospital officials have expressed gratitude to the Embassy staff and highlighted the US support.  As part of the aid, a new pediatric oncology department will be opened at the hospital, where children suffering from cancer will be able to receive treatment in accordance with modern standards.

Jo Ann University Hospital was founded by American philanthropist Jo Ann McGowan, whose efforts made it possible to ensure treatment for children with heart issues on the spot.

The hospital had operated under the name of the Medical Center until 2022, before its transfer to the ownership of European University.
