In a recent joint statement, the Presidents of the United States and France have urged Georgia’s ruling party, the Georgian Dream, to honor the will of the public by recommitting to the Euro-Atlantic trajectory, signaling unwavering support for Georgia’s aspirations amid calls for regional integration and peace in the South Caucasus.

“The United States and France support the establishment of a fair and lasting peace in the South Caucasus, based on the respect of international law as well as the principles of sovereignty, inviolability of borders and territorial integrity. They support further regional integration in the South Caucasus for the benefit of all the region’s people”, said the statement.

The statement comes amidst ongoing debates within Georgia and outside regarding the country’s political direction and its commitment to Euro-Atlantic values after the adoption and initiation of controversial legislations.
