The US Department of Homeland Security warns that people's dissatisfaction with the outcome of the presidential election could provoke new acts of violence in different states.
The security service issued a bulletin with data from the National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS), in which it warns that the "situation of increased threat" in the country is likely to last at least until the end of April, writes Voice of America.
"In recent days, violent riots have continued and we are still concerned about the fact that those who are dissatisfied with the activities of state bodies and the change in presidential power, as well as irritated by other ideological reasons, can continue to mobilize their forces," The US Department of Homeland Security stressed.
It also notes that aggressive domestic terrorists "may be inspired by the January 6 invasion of the Washington Capitol building and target officials and government agencies for their actions."
