The head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said that the appointment of a US special representative to resolve the situation in Donbass is currently being discussed.
"If we talk about concrete steps, today the appointment of a US special representative for the settlement and end of the war in Donbass is being actively discussed. It is very important that such a person appears," Yermak said in an interview with Liga.net.
Answering the question when the appointment of a special representative can take place, Yermak replied that the current administration knows Ukraine well.
"Close contacts at the level of the secretary of state and the administration indicate that such a decision can be made rather quickly," he said.
He also said that rapprochement of positions and closer cooperation in the military-defense sphere are being discussed. "And plus the support of the United States for Ukraine's obtaining the MAP," Yermak stressed.
